Description
A retreat led by the Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal.
Taking forward the teaching of Deuteronomy and Jesus, Inderjit Bhogal, founder, and President of the Cities of Sanctuary movement, will examine loving God, ourselves, and our neighbour, through creating safe spaces, internal and external, refuges for human flourishing.
These days will explore building cultures of welcome, hospitality and safety through social justice. There will be worship, input, and time for personal and group reflection.
As well as being the founder of the Cities of Sanctuary movement (the largest NGO working in the UK), the Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal is a leading theologian and Methodist Minister, who has served as President of the Methodist Conference, and is Minister of Wincobank Chapel. He is a former leader / CEO of the Corrymeela Community; CEO of Yorkshire and Humberside Faiths Forum; and President of the Methodist Peace Fellowship. Retiring from full-time Methodist Ministry in 2018, he currently works with Churches Together in Britain and Ireland to develop and promote the idea of Churches of Sanctuary.
