Description
Wednesday 2nd September 2026
Continuing Professional Development for Spiritual Directors, sponsored by companions on the Way and the Worcester Diocese Spiritual Direction Network. If you are a Director / Accompanist, you are very welcome.
Arrive from 10am the programme will start at 10.30.
Each of these days will begin with short prayers, followed by some input.
Many of you will have heard of the work that Jenna Burne does in relation to art journaling, and some of you may want to see what it might entail, so that perhaps you can encourage your directees to do some art journaling .
In the morning: We are very excited to be offering an Introduction to Art Journaling with JENNA BURNE in the first half of the day. She writes ‘We’re going to have such a fun time together, playing with art supplies, learning the building blocks of Art Journaling and enjoying God’s presence. This type of art is very free, fun and accessible to everyone, with absolutely no pressure for it to look “right” or “pretty”, so please don’t worry about what might be expected of you, no previous experience required!’ In terms of what to bring, we will have a good selection of art materials available for you to explore. All you really need is yourself, maybe a bible, a drinking water bottle and an apron (please do wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on, I’m planning for things to get quite messy!) Praying that you will enjoy this new way to encounter the Lord and it will provide lots of inspiration for how you can work creatively with your clients’
In the afternoon there will be an opportunity to meet in groups and to talk some more with Jenna about how to use this practice in Direction / Accompaniment.
The cost for the day including lunch is £40. Bursaries are available for 20% off or more via Helen Stanton warden@hollandhouse.org
The day will end at 3.30 with tea and cake.
Please note that Holland House does not provide a choice menu at meal times and it is therefore very important that you note any food types that you are unable to eat due to an allergy or you can advise of a dietary preference of vegetarian, pescatarian, dairy free, gluten free or vegan.
